About Enlighten Technology
A response time you can check, one flat rate you hear before you sign, and the people who answer when you call

How it started
I was in third grade when I asked for more RAM for my birthday. Yeah, I know. My parents did not know how to install it, so they paid a guy. He came to the house, did the work, got paid, and disappeared. Then we went on vacation. I spent the whole trip thinking about that computer.
When we got home I ran to turn it on, and nothing worked. Now there was a broken computer on the desk, a receipt for the job that broke it, and nobody to call.
I have been the customer standing in front of a machine that used to work. That feeling is the company. Everything we publish, the response numbers, the flat rate, the log of what we did on your systems, exists so that no client of ours is ever left holding that receipt.
We don't install your printer. We make sure it prints.

Our Values
Our response time is a measurement
The median first response on our homepage is calculated from real tickets clients filed with us, on the business clock, 8am to 5pm Hawaii time. If we slow down, the number on the site slows down with us.
We read every ticket. All 885.
We classified 885 of our tickets one at a time. 44% fit no recognisable IT category at all. That is the job, so we staff for it. The full breakdown.
We usually notice before you do
Roughly one ticket in eight is opened by our own monitoring rather than by a person. The disk fills, the backup misses, the alert fires, and the ticket exists before anyone at your office has hit the problem.
Our own house has locks
Hardware security keys on our own console, a two-person approval gate for destructive actions in our management platform, and a tamper-evident log of every action. The full list is on the security page.
One flat rate, no meter
One monthly rate for the agreed managed service scope, including service desk and on-site support. Projects, hardware, licenses, and after-hours work are priced separately. When the meter is off we have no reason to stretch a fix, and you have no reason to sit on a problem until it gets expensive.
We’re on your side of the ocean
Same time zone, same shipping delays, same vendors. When something has to be touched by hand, someone drives there.
Meet the team
Six people covering service desk, networks, cloud, projects, and work on site
Scott Tsukamaki
Owner & Principal Consultant
Scott started Enlighten Technology in 2013 because he wanted IT support a client could actually check: a published response time, a flat rate, a log of what was done. He holds a Master of Engineering and a CISSP. The rest of his attention goes to building systems that hold up in the way Hawaii actually does business.
LinkedIn
Kyler Matsuura
Network Specialist
Kyler is the network side of the house: routing, switching and network security, CCNA and Network+ certified. When a client's building gets a new network, he is usually the reason it keeps working after everyone stops thinking about it, and the reason it still makes sense when the business has grown.
LinkedIn
Kellyn Iwanaga
Service Desk Specialist
Kellyn works the front line of the service desk, CompTIA A+ certified. He is the voice that answers, and he has the two skills that matter there: he fixes things quickly, and he can explain what happened in plain English without making anyone feel silly for asking.
LinkedIn
Zijun Liu
Cloud & Project Specialist
Zijun runs the cloud work and the projects: the migrations and rollouts that need a plan and someone who sticks to it. He holds AWS Cloud Practitioner and Project+ certifications, and he is the methodical one who keeps a project on its schedule while a client's business keeps running around it.
LinkedIn
Chloe Malama
Field Tech
Chloe is an Enlighten field tech, with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and a long run in customer service before the career change, so the people half of the job came first. She is direct, relentlessly positive, and usually the one who turns up with the angle nobody else in the room had considered.

Chiara Duyn
Field Technician
Chiara is a Field Technician at Enlighten Technology. She holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and an A.S. in Information Technology from Kapiʻolani Community College. Her experience spans cybersecurity, front-end development, and camera technology.
